PCV VALVE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Check the operation.

        Install the hose to the cylinder head side of the ventilation valve.

      2. Check that the air flows smoothly when air is applied from the cylinder head side.

        OK
        Air flows

        Note


        • Do not suck air through the valve.

        • Petroleum substances inside the valve are hazardous to your health.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the ventilation valve sub-assembly.

      3. Remove the hose.

        Install the hose to the manifold side of the ventilation valve.

      5. Check that air does not flow when air is applied from the manifold side.

        OK
        Air does not flow.

        Note


        • Do not suck air through the valve.

        • Petroleum substances inside the valve are hazardous to your health.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the ventilation valve sub-assembly.

      6. Remove the hose.
