FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    Do not perform the inspection near an open flame.


    1. Check the operation


      1. Check that the float moves smoothly between F and E.

        OK
        The float operates smoothly.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel sender gauge assembly.

      Check the resistance.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 F (Upper End) 13.5 to 16.5 Ω
        Between F (Upper End) - E (Lower End)

        13.5 to 414.5 Ω

        (Gradually Changes)
        E (Lower End) 405.5 to 414.5 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel sender gauge assembly.
