FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note


    • Keep fuel away from rubber or leather parts.

    • After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

  3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

  4. DRAIN COOLANT (for Intercooler)

    Click here

  5. DISCONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE

    Click here

  6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

    Click here

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  9. REMOVE BATTERY

    Click here

  10. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

    Click here

  11. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER

    Click here

  12. DISCONNECT NO. 3 RADIATOR HOSE

    Click here

  13. DISCONNECT RESERVE TANK OUTLET HOSE

      Slide the hose clip and disconnect the reserve tank outlet hose from the intercooler reserve tank assembly.

  14. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Disengage the 4 clamps.

    3. Disconnect the 5 connectors.

    4. B0046X7

      Disconnect the connector.

    5. Remove the 2 nuts.

    6. Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the engine wire.

  15. DISCONNECT NO. 1 VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE

      Slide the hose clip and disconnect the No. 1 vacuum transmitting hose from the air tube.

  16. DISCONNECT FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE

      Disconnect the fuel vapor feed hose from the air tube.

  17. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL PIPE CLAMP

    Note

    Remove any foreign matter on the fuel tube connector and fuel pipe before performing this work.

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 fuel pipe clamp from the fuel tube sub-assembly and fuel pipe.

  18. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Note

    Remove any dirt or foreign matter on the fuel tube connector and fuel pipe before performing this work.

      Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel pipe.


      1. Pinch the retainer of the fuel tube connector, and then pull the fuel tube connector off of the fuel pipe.

        Note

        Be sure to disconnect the fuel tube connector by hand.

      2. If the fuel tube connector and fuel pipe are stuck, push and pull the fuel tube connector to release it. Pull the fuel tube connector off of the fuel pipe carefully.

        • Be sure to disconnect the fuel tube connector by hand.

        • Do not scratch or allow any foreign matter to get on the parts when disconnecting them as the fuel tube connector has O-rings that seal the pipe (fuel pipe).

        • Do not bend, twist, pinch or kink the nylon tube.

      3. Check that there is no foreign matter on the sealing surfaces of the disconnected fuel lines. Clean them if necessary.

      4. Cover the disconnected fuel pipe and fuel tube connector with plastic bags to prevent damage and contamination.

  19. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE

      Remove the bolt.

      Remove the 2 bolts.

      Remove the plate.

    4. B0046AD

      Remove the 2 washers.

    5. B0047FZ

      Remove the fuel delivery pipe with the 4 fuel injector assemblies.

      Note

      Do not drop the fuel injector assemblies when removing the fuel delivery pipe.

  20. REMOVE NO. 1 DELIVERY PIPE SPACER

      Remove the 2 No. 1 delivery pipe spacers from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  21. REMOVE INJECTOR VIBRATION INSULATOR

      Remove the 4 injector vibration insulators from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  22. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

      Pull the 4 fuel injector assemblies out of the fuel delivery pipe.

      Note

      Do not allow foreign matter to enter the fuel delivery pipe.

    2. B0045ZY

      Remove the O-ring from each fuel injector assembly.

    3. For reinstallation, attach a tag or label with the corresponding cylinder number to each fuel injector assembly.

      Note

      Cover the fuel injector assemblies with plastic bags to prevent damage and contamination.
