ENGINE UNIT INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR HEAT SHIELD

   
   

   1. Install the crankshaft position sensor heat shield with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:

      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

2. INSTALL SUPERCHARGER NOSE SUPPORT BRACKET

   
   

   1. Install the supercharger nose support bracket with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:

      25 N*m  { 255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }

3. INSTALL ALTERNATOR TENSIONER BRACKET

   
   

   1. Install the alternator tensioner bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:

      25 N*m  { 255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }

4. INSTALL THERMOSTAT

5. INSTALL WATER INLET

   Click here

6. INSTALL WATER INLET HOSE

   
   

   1. Install the water inlet hose with the 2 clamps.

7. INSTALL WATER BY-PASS HOSE

   
   

   1. Install the water by-pass hose with the clamp.

8. INSTALL NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

   
   

   1. Install the No. 1 water by-pass pipe with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:

      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

9. CONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

   
   

   1. Connect the No. 3 water by-pass hose to the water inlet housing.

   2. Install the No. 3 water by-pass hose with the bolt.

      Torque:

      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

10. INSTALL VENTILATION HOSE

    
    

    1. Install the ventilation hose.

11. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD

12. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

13. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

    
    

    1. Install the 4 ignition coil assemblies with the 4 bolts.

       Torque:

       10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

       Note

       When installing each ignition coil assembly, do not damage the plug cap on the engine head cover opening or the upper edge of the spark plug tube.

14. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

15. INSTALL NO. 1 DELIVERY PIPE SPACER

16. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE

17. INSTALL AIR TUBE

    
    

    1. Connect the air tube to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

       Torque:

       10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

18. INSTALL INTERCOOLER RESERVE TANK BRACKET

    
    

    1. Install the intercooler reserve tank bracket with the 3 bolts.

       Torque:

       20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

19. INSTALL SUPERCHARGER ASSEMBLY

20. CONNECT NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

    Click here

21. CONNECT NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

    Click here

22. INSTALL ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE

    
    

    1. Apply engine oil to a new O-ring and install it to the engine oil level dipstick guide.

    2. Install the engine oil level dipstick guide with the bolt.

       Torque:

       16 N*m  { 163 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf }

    3. Install the engine oil level dipstick.
