DRIVE BELT INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

      Install the fan and generator V belt.

    2. If it is difficult to install the fan and generator V belt, perform the following procedure:


      1. Put the fan and generator V belt on every pulley except the tensioner pulley as shown in the illustration.

      2. Release the fan and generator V belt tension by turning the V-ribbed belt tensioner counterclockwise, and put the fan and generator V belt on the tensioner pulley.

        Note


        • Put the backside of the fan and generator V belt on the V-ribbed belt tensioner pulley.


        • Check that the fan and generator V belt is properly set to each pulley.

      Turn the V-ribbed belt tensioner counterclockwise and remove the 5 mm hexagon wrench.

    4. After installing the fan and generator V belt, check that it fits properly in the ribbed grooves. Confirm that the fan and generator V belt has not slipped out of the grooves on the bottom of the crank pulley by hand.

  2. INSTALL INLET NO. 1 AIR CLEANER


    1. Install the inlet No. 1 air cleaner to the cylinder head cover with the bolt.

      Torque:
      7.8 N*m  { 80 kgf*cm, 69 in.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER


    1. Engage the 3 clamps and install the No. 1 engine cover to the cylinder head cover.
