CYLINDER HEAD(w/ DPF) REASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 1 WITH HEAD TAPER SCREW PLUG


    1. A01VFN5

      Install a new gasket onto the No. 1 with head taper screw plug.

    2. Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, install the No. 1 with head taper screw plug to the cylinder head sub-assembly.

      Torque:
      25 N*m  { 255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL VALVE ROCKER ARM PIVOT


    1. A01VFJA

      Install the valve rocker arm pivot onto the cylinder head sub-assembly.

      Torque:
      30 N*m  { 306 kgf*cm, 22 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL VALVE SPRING SEAT


    1. A01VGFX

      Install the valve spring seat onto the cylinder head sub-assembly.

      Note

      After assembling the valve spring seat, check that the valve spring seat is not being raised up due to overlapping the level difference of the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  4. INSTALL VALVE STEM OIL SEAL


    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the lip of new valve stem oil seals.

    2. A01VJPF

      Install the valve stem oil seals to the intake valve guide bush and exhaust valve guide bush.

  5. INSTALL INTAKE VALVE

      *a 30 mm (1.18 in.) or more

      Sufficiently apply engine oil to the tip area of the intake valve shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the intake valve, outer compression spring and valve spring retainer onto the cylinder head sub-assembly.

    3. A01VIYQE01

      Using SST, install the valve spring retainer locks to the valve spring retainer.

  6. INSTALL EXHAUST VALVE

      *a 30 mm (1.18 in.) or more

      Sufficiently apply engine oil to the tip area of the exhaust valve shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the exhaust valve, outer compression spring and valve spring retainer onto the cylinder head sub-assembly.

    3. A01VE1DE01

      Using SST, install the valve spring retainer locks to the valve spring retainer.

  7. INSTALL VALVE STEM CAP


    1. A01VLEB

      Using a plastic hammer, lightly tap the valve stem tip to ensure that it fits properly.

      Note

      Do not damage the tip of the valve stem.

    2. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the valve stem caps.

    3. Install the valve stem caps to the intake valve and exhaust valve.
