CYLINDER HEAD(w/ DPF) DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE VALVE STEM CAP


    1. A01VFNU

      Remove the valve stem caps from the intake valve and exhaust valve.

      Tech Tips

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

  2. REMOVE INTAKE VALVE


    1. A01VIYQE01

      Using SST, remove the valve spring retainer locks from the valve spring retainer.

      Tech Tips

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

    2. Remove the valve spring retainer, outer compression spring and intake valve from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

  3. REMOVE EXHAUST VALVE


    1. A01VE1DE01

      Using SST, remove the valve spring retainer locks from the valve spring retainer.

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

    2. Remove the valve spring retainer, outer compression spring and exhaust valve from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE VALVE STEM OIL SEAL

      Using needle-nose pliers, remove the valve stem oil seals from the intake valve guide bush and exhaust valve guide bush.

  5. REMOVE VALVE SPRING SEAT


    1. A01VGFX

      Remove the valve spring seat from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  6. REMOVE VALVE ROCKER ARM PIVOT


    1. A01VFJA

      Remove the valve rocker arm pivot from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 WITH HEAD TAPER SCREW PLUG


    1. A01VFN5

      Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the No. 1 with head taper screw plug and gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
