FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL


    1. Apply MP grease to a new oil seal lip.

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the new oil seal until its surface is flush with the timing chain cover edge.

      SST
      09223-22010
      Oil seal tap in depth
      -0.6 to 0 mm (-0.0236 to 0 in.)

      Note


      • Keep the lip free from foreign matter.

      • Do not tap the oil seal at an angle.

  2. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT DAMPER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Align the key with the key groove of the crankshaft damper, and slide the crankshaft damper to the crankshaft.

      Using SST, secure the crankshaft damper.

    3. Tighten the bolt to the specified torque.

      Torque:
      210 N*m  { 2141 kgf*cm, 155 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Set the engine mounting insulator RH onto the vehicle and engine mouthing bracket.

    2. Install the 2 stud bolts to the engine mouthing bracket.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }
    3. A01VGFQE02

      Temporarily tighten the engine mounting insulator RH with the 4 bolts and 3 nuts.

    4. Fully tighten the 3 bolts to the body, in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      Bolt A
      52 N*m  { 530 kgf*cm, 38 ft.*lbf }

    5. Fully tighten the bolt and 3 nuts to the engine.

      Torque:
      Bolt B
      88 N*m  { 897 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf }
      Nut C
      52 N*m  { 530 kgf*cm, 38 ft.*lbf }
      Nut D
      88 N*m  { 897 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf }

    6. Install the engine mounting stay with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      88 N*m  { 897 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

  5. INSPECT FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

  6. INSTALL RADIATOR RESERVE TANK BRACKET

    Click here

  7. INSTALL RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY

  8. CONNECT UNION TO CONNECTOR TUBE HOSE

    Click here

  9. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK

  10. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

  11. INSTALL OIL PAN COVER

    Click here

  12. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

    Click here

  13. INSTALL CENTER ENGINE UNDER COVER

    Torque:
    5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

  14. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL RH

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }
