CYLINDER HEAD REASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL CYLINDER HEAD OIL ORIFICE

    A01VEWD

    1. Tap the cylinder head oil orifice in, as shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL VALVE SPRING SEAT

    A01VHMY

    1. Install the 12 valve spring seats onto the cylinder head.

  3. INSTALL VALVE STEM OIL SEAL (for TMC Made)

    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to 12 new valve stem oil seals.

    2. Using SST, push in the valve stem oil seals by hand.

      Make sure that each valve stem oil seal is pushed in to the specified depth, as shown in the illustration.

      Standard depth
      Intake side
      10.0 to 11.6 mm (0.394 to 0.457 in.)
      Exhaust side
      9.4 to 11.0 mm (0.370 to 0.433 in.)

  4. INSTALL VALVE STEM OIL SEAL (for TMMF Made)

    A01VJNPE01

    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to 12 new valve stem oil seals.

    2. Using SST, push in the valve stem oil seals by hand.

      Make sure that each valve stem oil seal is pushed in to the specified depth, as shown in the illustration.

      Standard depth
      Intake side
      9.7 to 11.3 mm (0.382 to 0.445 in.)
      Exhaust side
      9.3 to 10.9 mm (0.366 to 0.429 in.)

  5. INSTALL VALVE


    1. A01VLYEE04
      *1 30 mm

      Apply engine oil to each valve area of 30 mm (1.18 in.) or more from its tip, as shown in the illustration.

    2. A01VFBH

      Install the valves, inner compression springs and valve seat retainers onto the cylinder head.

    3. A01VHPWE01

      Using SST, compress the inner compression springs and place the 2 valve spring retainer locks around the valve stem.

      *1 Pin Punch

      Using a pin punch, gently tap the valve stem tip to ensure that it is fitted properly.

      Note

      Do not damage the valve stem tip.

      Apply engine oil to the top surfaces of the valve as shown in the illustration.
