ENGINE UNIT REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  3. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS HOSE ASSEMBLY

    1. Disengage the 2 water by-pass hoses from the hose clamps.

    2. Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses from the throttle body.

    3. A01VJMO

      Disconnect the 3 water by-pass hoses from the cylinder head and EGR valve.

  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUPPORT

  5. REMOVE THROTTLE WITH MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE EFI FUEL PIPE CLAMP

    1. Remove the EFI fuel pipe clamp from the fuel tube.

  7. REMOVE FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the earth cable from the cylinder head.

    2. Remove the fuel tube from the fuel pipe Click here.

  8. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD STAY

  9. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

    1. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the intake manifold.

      *1 No. 2 Fuel Vapor Feed Hose
      *2 Ventilation Hose

      Disconnect the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose from the duty vacuum switching valve.

    3. Disconnect the ventilation hose from the ventilation valve.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and intake manifold from the cylinder head.

      Remove the No. 1 intake manifold to head gasket from the intake manifold.

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 INTAKE MANIFOLD INSULATOR

  11. REMOVE EGR VALVE ASSEMBLY

    1. Rotate the EGR valve to avoid contact with the delivery pipe, and remove the EGR valve.

    2. Remove the EGR valve gasket from the cylinder head.

  12. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK SUB-ASSEMBLY

  13. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE

    1. Remove the bolt and engine oil level dipstick guide.

    2. A01VITQ

      Remove the O-ring from the engine oil level dipstick guide.

  14. REMOVE NO. 1 IGNITION COIL

  15. REMOVE EGR INLET EXHAUST MANIFOLD PLATE

    Click here

  16. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

    Click here

  17. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  18. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE

      Remove the 2 bolts and delivery pipe together with the 3 injectors.

      Note

      Do not drop the injectors when removing the delivery pipe.

    2. Remove the 3 injector vibration insulators from the cylinder head.

  19. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

  20. REMOVE NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE

    1. Remove the ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover.
