FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL


    1. Apply engine oil to the lip of a new timing chain cover oil seal.

      Note

      Keep the lip free from foreign matter.

    2. A01VH9KE01

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the timing chain cover oil seal to the timing chain cover sub-assembly.

      Standard depth
      -0.5 to 1.0 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0394 in.)

      09950-70010   ( 09951-00720 )

      Note


      • Do not tap the timing chain cover oil seal at an angle.

      • Wipe off extra engine oil from the crankshaft.

  2. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

      *b Pulley Set Key
      *c Hold
      *d Turn

      Align the pulley set key with the key groove of the crankshaft pulley.

    2. Temporarily install the pulley set bolt.

    3. Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley in place and tighten the pulley set bolt.

      SST
      09960-10010   ( 09962-01000, 09963-01000 )
      Torque:
      170 N*m  { 1734 kgf*cm, 125 ft.*lbf }
  3. INSTALL OIL FILTER BRACKET


    1. Install a new oil filter bracket gasket to the timing chain cover sub-assembly.

    2. Install the oil filter bracket to the timing chain cover sub-assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      24 N*m  { 245 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }
  4. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

  5. INSPECT FOR ENGINE OIL LEAK

  6. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

    Click here

  7. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL RH

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1050 kgf*cm }
