THROTTLE BODY INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY


    1. Install a new throttle body gasket to the supercharger assembly.

      Note

      Check that the gasket is securely fitted into the groove on the supercharger assembly.

    2. Install the throttle body assembly to the supercharger assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      If the throttle body assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    3. Connect the throttle body assembly connector.

  2. CONNECT NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE


    1. Connect the No. 2 water by-pass hose to the throttle body assembly and slide the clip to secure it.

  3. CONNECT NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE


    1. Connect the No. 1 water by-pass hose to the throttle body assembly and slide the clip to secure it.

  4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE


    1. Engage the 2 guides and install the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose to the air cleaner case sub-assembly.

    2. Engage the 2 clamps.

    3. Connect the air cleaner hose assembly to the throttle body assembly and tighten the hose clamp.

      Torque:
      3.0 N*m  { 31 kgf*cm, 27 in.*lbf }

    4. Connect the mass air flow meter connector.

    5. Engage the wire harness clamp and guide.

  5. CONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE


    1. Connect the No. 2 ventilation hose to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly and slide the clip to secure it.

  6. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  7. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK

  8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

    Note


    • Be sure to perform this procedure after removing and reinstalling the throttle body assembly or any throttle body assembly components.

    • Perform the following procedure after replacing the throttle body assembly or any throttle body assembly components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body assembly is cleaned.


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Clear the DTCs.

    3. Perform "Inspection After Repair".

    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated. After the engine is warmed up, check that the idle speed is within the specified range with the A/C switch off.

      Standard
      770 to 870 rpm

      Note


      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.

      • Make sure that the shift lever is in neutral.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Throttle Sensor Position.

    6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value of Throttle Sensor Position is 60% or higher.

    7. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
