    Enable Criteria (1)

  • Engine running

  • Engine coolant temperature 70°C (158°F) or higher

  • Misfire limp home not active

  • Engine speed limiter not active

  • External torque requests is none

  • Error between measured manifold pressure and modelled manifold pressure higher than -10 kPa, or 10 kPa or more

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

If there are deposits in the throttle valve, a decrease in the ISC flow rate may cause engine stall or unstable idling. Therefore, the necessary ISC flow rate for idling is maintained using the ISC learned value and feedback. The ECM stores this DTC if the ISC learned value approaches its limit.

Note

Never clean the throttle with motor body assembly.

Tech Tips


  • Read freeze frame data using the GTS. Freeze frame data records engine conditions when a malfunction occurs. This information can be useful when troubleshooting.

  • Since a pending DTC is not stored for this DTC, it takes time to confirm whether the malfunction has been successfully repaired by checking for this DTC. When confirming whether the malfunction has been successfully repaired, compare "ISC Learning Value" recorded in the freeze frame data with "ISC Learning Value" in the Data List after repairs have been made to save time.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (MAP)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / MAP.

    5. Read the MAP value.

      Same value as the actual atmospheric pressure

      Tech Tips


      • Standard atmospheric pressure is 101 kPa(abs) [758 mmHg(abs)]. For every 100 m (328 ft.) increase in altitude, atmospheric pressure drops by approximately 1 kPa (7.5 mmHg). The pressure also varies due to the weather (high atmospheric pressure, low atmospheric pressure).

      • Also, check "Atmosphere Pressure" in the Data List.

  2. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF VACUUM SENSOR (MAINFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR))

    1. Disconnect the vacuum sensor (manifold absolute pressure sensor) connector.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  4. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P1108)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Clear the DTC.

    5. Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.

    6. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    7. Turn the GTS on.

    8. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.

    9. Read the DTCs.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - VACUUM SENSOR (MAINFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR))


    1. Disconnect the B142 ECM connector.

    2. Disconnect the B134 vacuum sensor (mainfold absolute pressure sensor) connector.

    3. Disconnect the A117 mass air flow meter connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
