    INSPECT ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE SENSOR

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Atmospheric Pressure

    5. Read the values displayed on the GTS.

      OK
Approximately the same as ambient atmospheric pressure

If the result is not as specified, replace the atmospheric pressure sensor.

      Tip:
      • Standard atmospheric pressure is 101 kPa (abs) [758 mmHg (abs)].

      • For every 100 m (328 ft.) increase in altitude, pressure drops by 1 kPa (7.5 mmHg). This varies by weather.

    6. Remove the glove compartment door assembly.

    7. While applying a vacuum of 66.7 kPa (abs) [500 mmHg (abs)] to the atmospheric pressure sensor using a vacuum pump, read the values displayed on the GTS.

      OK
Approximately the same as ambient atmospheric pressure -66.7 kPa (abs) [500 mmHg (abs)]

If the result is not as specified, replace the atmospheric pressure sensor.

      Tip:

      • For every 100 m (328 ft.) increase in altitude, pressure drops by 1 kPa (7.5 mmHg). This varies by weather.

    8. Install the glove compartment door assembly.
