DESCRIPTION

Tech Tips

This DTC is applicable to CVT models only.

The ECM receives signals sent from the Airbag ECU assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) via CAN communication. When DTCs indicating a CAN communication system malfunction are output, repair the CAN communication system before repairing each corresponding ECU or sensor.

U0124 Lost Communication with Lateral Acceleration Sensor Module While the ignition switch is ON, there is no communication between the ECM and Airbag ECU assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) for 1.25 seconds (1 trip detection logic).

  • ECM

 Does not come on DTC stored (for CVT) / - (for Manual Transaxle)

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (DTC U0124)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.

    5. Read the DTCs using the GTS.

      • *1: w/ Toyota Safety Sense

      • *2: w/o Toyota Safety Sense

      Tech Tips

      If any DTCs other than U0124 is output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.
