THROTTLE BODY INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL THROTTLE WITH MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY


    1. Install a new throttle body gasket onto the intake manifold.

    2. Install the throttle with motor body assembly onto the intake manifold with wire harness clamp bracket and 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }
    3. Connect the connector of the throttle with motor body assembly.

    4. Engage the clamp and connect the engine wire to the wire harness clamp bracket.

  2. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE


    1. Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses to the throttle with motor body assembly with the 2 hose clamps.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER HOSE

      Install the No. 1 air cleaner hose onto the throttle with motor body assembly with the hose clamp as shown in the illustration.

  4. CONNECT VENTILATION HOSE


    1. Connect the ventilation hose to the No. 1 air cleaner hose with hose clamp.

  5. CONNECT NO. 1 VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly to the No. 1 air cleaner hose.

  6. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly onto the No. 1 air cleaner hose with the hose clamp.

      Torque:
      3.0 N*m  { 31 kgf*cm, 27 in.*lbf }
    2. Engage the 2 claws and install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly onto the air cleaner case sub-assembly.

    3. Connect the connector of the mass air flow meter.

    4. Engage the clamp and connect the engine wire to the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.

  7. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  8. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK

  9. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

  10. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

    Note

    Perform the following procedure after replacing the throttle with motor body assembly or any throttle with motor body assembly components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle with motor body assembly is cleaned.


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the accelerator pedal.

      Note

      If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above step again.

    2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs Click here.

    3. Perform the "Inspection After Repairs" Click here.

    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated and that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off after the engine is warmed up.

      Standard
      Transaxle Condition Engine Idle Speed
      CVT A/C switched off 600 to 700 rpm
      Manual Transaxle 550 to 650 rpm

      Tech Tips


      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.

      • Make sure that the shift lever is in P or neutral.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Throttle Pos. Sensor Output. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or more.

    6. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
