  • After turning ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK WHETHER ENGINE CAN BE CRANKED


    1. Check if the engine can be cranked.

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (STARTER SIGNAL)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Starter Signal.

    5. Read the value displayed on the tester when the ignition switch is turned to the ON and START positions.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH - ECM)


    1. Disconnect the F65 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the B100 park/neutral position switch connector.

    3. Disconnect the B22 ECM connector (for LHD).

    4. Disconnect the B23 ECM connector (for RHD).

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD

      F65-5 (STAR) - B100-4 (B) Always Below 1 Ω

    1. Disconnect the F65 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the B100 park/neutral position switch connector.

    3. Disconnect the A52 power management control ECU connector.

    4. Disconnect the A58 ECM connector.

    5. Remove the ST relay from the engine room relay block.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

    3. Disconnect the A58 ECM connector.

    4. Remove the ST relay from the engine room relay block.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the F65 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the A39 clutch start switch assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the B22 ECM connector (for LHD).

    4. Disconnect the B23 ECM connector (for RHD).

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.

    3. Disconnect the B53 starter assembly connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    5. Disconnect the A58 ECM connector.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Remove the ST relay from the engine room relay block.

    2. Disconnect the F65 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    3. Disconnect the A39 clutch start switch assembly connector.

    4. Disconnect the A52 power management control ECU connector.

    5. Disconnect the A58 ECM connector.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  15. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (STARTER SIGNAL)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    1. Remove the ST relay from the engine room relay block.

    2. Disconnect the A58 ECM connector.

    3. Disconnect the F65 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    4. Disconnect the B100 park/neutral position switch connector.

    5. Disconnect the A52 power management control ECU connector.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
