MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURESENSOR

   
   

   1. Inspect the power source voltage.

      
      

      1. Disconnect the connector of the manifold absolute pressure sensor.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      3.

         *a	Front of wire harness connector (to Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor)

         Measure the voltage between the terminals of the manifold absolute pressure sensor connector.

         Standard Voltage
         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 3 (VC) - 1 (E2) Ignition switch ON 4.5 to 5.5 V

      4. Turn the ignition switch off.

      5. Reconnect the connector of the manifold absolute pressure sensor.

   2. Check the vacuum and pressure.

      
      

      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester on.

      3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Map and Atmosphere Pressure.

      4. Read the value.

         OK
         Condition Map and Atmosphere Pressure Value No pressure applied Same as atmospheric pressure Vacuum applied Becomes vacuum Pressure applied Becomes pressurized

         If the result is not as specified, replace the manifold absolute pressure sensor.
