CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (w/ DPF)

    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring.

      Note

      If reusing the camshaft position sensor, be sure to inspect the O-ring.

    2. Install the camshaft position sensor to the timing chain cover assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      7.0 N*m  { 71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf }

      Note

      • If a component has been dropped or subjected to a strong impact, replace the camshaft position sensor.

      • Make sure that the O-ring is not damaged or does not jump out of position during installation.

    3. Connect the camshaft position sensor connector.

  2. INSTALL CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (w/o DPF)

    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring.

      Note

      If reusing the camshaft position sensor, be sure to inspect the O-ring.

    2. Install the camshaft position sensor to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      7.0 N*m  { 71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf }

      Note

      • If a component has been dropped or subjected to a strong impact, replace the camshaft position sensor.

      • Make sure that the O-ring is not damaged or does not jump out of position during installation.

    3. Connect the camshaft position sensor connector.

  3. INSTALL SENSOR BRACKET (w/o DPF)

    1. Connect the differential pressure sensor connector.

    2. Install the sensor bracket to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the nut.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }
  4. INSPECT FOR ENGINE OIL LEAK

    1. Start the engine and check that there are no oil leaks.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER (w/o DPF)
