MASS AIR FLOW METER(w/ DPF) ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT MASS AIR FLOW METER

   Tech Tips

   Perform "Inspection After Repairs" after replacing the mass air flow meter.

   
   

   1. Read the value using the GTS. (MAF)

      Note

      Perform the inspection of the mass air flow meter while it is installed to the air cleaner case (installed to the vehicle).

      
      

      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG) (do not run the engine).

      3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / MAF.

      4. Wait 30 seconds, and then read the values on the GTS.

         Standard
         Tester Display Condition Specified Condition MAF Idling 4.0 to 7.0 gm/sec 2000 rpm 12.0 to 16.0 gm/sec 3000 rpm 17.0 to 23.0 gm/sec

         If the result is not as specified, replace the mass air flow meter.

         If the result is within the specified range, inspect the mass air flow meter.
