VACUUM PUMP ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT VACUUM PUMP ASSEMBLY

    *1 Vacuum Gauge

    1. Disconnect the vacuum hose and connect the vacuum gauge to the vacuum pump assembly.

    2. Start the engine and warm it up for more than 2 minutes.

    3. Measure the vacuum with the engine at idle.

      Vacuum at standard (sea-level) atmospheric pressure (1013 mbar)
      More than 86 kPa (650 mmHg)

      Tech Tips

      Replace the vacuum pump every 200000 km (124000 miles).

    4. Remove the vacuum gauge from the vacuum pump assembly.

    5. Connect the vacuum hose connector to the vacuum pump assembly.
