REAR SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  2. REMOVE REAR BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Rear Drum Brake)

  3. SEPARATE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake)

  4. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH (for Rear Disc Brake)


    1. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the rear disc brake cylinder assembly from the axle beam.

      Note

      Hang the caliper using a piece of string or the equivalent.

  5. REMOVE REAR DISC (for Rear Disc Brake)

  6. DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE

    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw of the connector lock portion and disconnect the skid control sensor wire connector.

  7. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY (for Rear Drum Brake)

      Remove the 4 bolts and remove the rear axle hub and bearing assembly from the axle beam.

      Note

      Suspend the backing plate with a piece of rope.

      Tech Tips

      The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

  8. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake)

      Remove the 4 bolts and rear axle hub and bearing assembly and disc brake dust cover sub-assembly from the axle beam.

      Tech Tips

      The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
