REAR SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY (for Rear Drum Brake)


    1. Install the axle hub and bearing onto the axle beam with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      90 N*m  { 918 kgf*cm, 66 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

  2. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake)


    1. Install the axle hub and bearing and disc brake dust cover sub-assembly onto the axle beam with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      90 N*m  { 918 kgf*cm, 66 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

  3. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING BACKLASH (for Rear Drum Brake)

  5. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB RUNOUT (for Rear Drum Brake)

  6. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB RUNOUT (for Rear Disc Brake)

  7. CONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE


    1. Connect the skid control sensor wire connector.

  8. INSTALL REAR BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Rear Drum Brake)

  9. ADJUST REAR DRUM BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE (for Rear Drum Brake)

  10. INSTALL REAR DISC (for Rear Disc Brake)

    Click here

  11. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake)


    1. Install the rear disc brake cylinder assembly onto the axle beam with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      57 N*m  { 585 kgf*cm, 42 ft.*lbf }
  12. INSTALL NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake)

  13. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }
  14. INSPECT AND ADJUST PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL (for Rear Disc Brake)

  15. INSPECT REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT

  16. CHECK ABS SENSOR SIGNAL (w/o VSC)
