PROCEDURE
DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
Note
Immediately wash off any brake fluid that comes into contact with any painted surfaces.
REMOVE BATTERY
REMOVE BATTERY TRAY
REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER (for 1KR-FE)
Disengage the 4 wire harness clamps and disconnect the wire harness from the battery carrier.
Remove the 4 bolts and battery carrier.
REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER (for 2NR-FKE)
REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER (for 1ND-TV)
REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/ VSC)
Release the lock lever and disconnect the brake actuator connector.
Note
Be careful not to allow brake fluid to enter the removed connector.
Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, separate the 2 brake tubes from the front No. 1 brake tube way.
Using a union nut wrench 12 mm, separate the 2 brake tubes from the brake master cylinder.
Using a union nut wrench 10 mm and union nut wrench 12 mm, separate the 6 brake tubes from the brake actuator.

Remove the 3 bolts and brake actuator with bracket from the side member.
Note
Do not damage the brake tubes or wire harness.
REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/o VSC)
Release the lock lever and disconnect the brake actuator connector.
Note
Be careful not to allow brake fluid to enter the removed connector.
Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, separate the 2 brake tubes from the front No. 1 brake tube way.
Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, separate the 2 brake tubes from the brake master cylinder.
Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, separate the 6 brake tubes from the brake actuator.
Remove the 3 bolts and brake actuator with bracket from the side member.
Note
Do not damage the brake tubes or wire harness.
REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY
Remove the 2 nuts, bolt and brake actuator bracket assembly.
REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR BOLT CUSHION
Remove the 3 brake actuator case collars from the brake actuator bolt cushion.
Remove the 3 brake actuator bolt cushions from the brake actuator bracket assembly.
