C1422 Master Cylinder Pressure Sensor Zero Point High Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

A new skid control ECU is supplied without zero point calibration for the yaw rate sensor and master cylinder pressure sensor. Until the zero points are calibrated, DTC C1422 remains stored. By entering test mode, the zero point calibration is automatically performed, and DTC C1422 is erased automatically.

When either of following conditions (1 or 2) detected:


  1. Vehicle driven without completion of zero point calibration.

  2. After zero point has been obtained, zero point voltage of sensor not between 0.3 V and 0.9 V.


  • Brake actuator assembly (Master cylinder pressure sensor)

  • Zero point calibration incomplete

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK MASTER CYLINDER PRESSURE SENSOR (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Check that the master cylinder pressure sensor (brake actuator assembly) has been installed properly (for LHD See page , for RHD Click here.

      OK
      The brake actuator is tightened to the specified torque. The brake actuator is not tilted.

    OK
  2. PERFORM DECELERATION SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION


    1. Perform zero point calibration of the deceleration sensor Click here.


    NEXT
  3. RECONFIRM DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 40 km/h (25 mph) or more and perform braking test (decelerate the vehicle by depressing the brake pedal).

    4. Check if the same DTC is recorded Click here.

      Tech Tips


      • The DTC is set if the zero point calibration has not been completed successfully.

      • End the procedure when the same DTC is not set after completion of the zero point calibration.
