    1. A01VL8XE01

      Check the DTC.

      1. Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

        09843-18040
      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      3. Observe the blinking pattern of the ABS warning and Slip indicator lights in order to identify the DTC.

        Tip:

If no code appears, inspect the TC and CG terminal circuit, and ABS warning and Slip indicator light circuits.

        Tip:
        • The speed sensor check may not be completed if the sensor check is started with the steering wheel turned or one or more wheels spinning.

        • If the speed sensor check is commenced while the steering wheel is turned, the ABS warning light may come on after the low speed check is finished.

        • The ABS warning light comes on immediately when an abnormality is detected.

        • When the speed sensor signal is normal, the ABS warning light turns off while driving at 45 km/h (28 mph) or more and blinks in the test mode pattern while the vehicle is stationary.

        • Do not drive the vehicle at a speed of 80 km/h (50 mph) or more after the ABS warning light turns off, because test mode DTCs are set again when the vehicle speed exceeds 80 km/h (50 mph).

        • If the vehicle is driven on extremely rough or bumpy roads, sensor signal check may fail and middle speed check DTCs may not be deleted. In such cases, stop the vehicle and drive it again to resume the speed sensor check.

      4. Check the details of the DTCs.

*1: This DTC is output when the VSC system detects a malfunction in the ABS.

      5. After completing the check, disconnect terminals TC and CG of the DLC3 to turn off the display.

        Tip:

If 2 or more DTCs are detected at the same time, the DTCs will be displayed in ascending order.

    2. Clear the DTC.

      1. A01VL8XE01

Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

        09843-18040
      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      3. Clear the DTCs stored in the ECU by depressing the brake pedal 8 times or more within 5 seconds.

      4. Check that the warning light indicates a normal system code.

      5. Remove SST from the terminals of the DLC3.

        Tip:

Clearing the DTCs cannot be performed by disconnecting the battery terminal or the ECU-IG NO. 2 fuse.

  3. END OF DTC CHECK/CLEAR

    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    2. Check that the ABS warning and Slip indicator lights go off within approximately 3 seconds after turning the ignition switch to ON.
