C1436 Yaw Rate Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) receives signals from the yaw rate sensor (airbag sensor assembly) via the CAN communication system.

The yaw rate sensor (airbag sensor assembly) has a built-in deceleration sensor and detects the vehicle's condition using 2 circuits (GL1, GL2).

If there is trouble in the bus lines between the yaw rate sensor (airbag sensor assembly) and the CAN communication system, DTCs U0124 (Lost Communication with Lateral Acceleration Sensor Module) are set.

These DTCs are also output when calibration has not been completed.

  1. With the vehicle stationary, the yaw rate and deceleration sensor output value is not 0 deg/s.

  2. Abnormal comparison value.

  • When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration Click here.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (YAW RATE SENSOR)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Data List.

    5. According to the display on the tester, read the Data List.

    6. Check that the yaw rate sensor (airbag sensor assembly) output value displayed on the intelligent tester.

  2. CHECK YAW RATE SENSOR (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY) INSTALLATION


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Check that the yaw rate sensor (airbag sensor assembly) has been installed properly Click here.

      OK
      The sensor should be tightened to the specified torque.
      The sensor should not be installed in a tilted position.
