THROTTLE BODY INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL THROTTLE WITH MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY


    1. A01VDNH

      Install a new throttle body gasket onto the intake manifold sub-assembly.

    2. A01VE99E02

      Temporarily install the throttle with motor body assembly onto the intake manifold sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Note

      If a component has been dropped or subjected to a strong impact, replace it.

    3. Tighten the 4 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    4. Connect the connector of the throttle with motor body assembly.

    5. Engage the clamp and connect the engine wire to the throttle with motor body assembly.

  2. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE ASSEMBLY

      Connect the water by-pass hose assembly to the throttle with motor body assembly with the 2 hose clamps.

  3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUPPORT


    1. Install the air cleaner cap support onto the throttle with motor body assembly with the clamp.

  4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly onto the air cleaner cap support.

    2. Connect the air cleaner cap sub-assembly to the No. 2 ventilation hose with the hose clamp.

    3. Engage the 4 clamps.

  5. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  6. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK

  7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

    Note


    • Perform the following procedure after replacing the throttle with motor body assembly or any throttle with motor body assembly components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle with motor body assembly is cleaned.

    • After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.


    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Wait at least 60 seconds and reconnect the cable.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the accelerator pedal.

      Note

      If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.

    3. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs Click here.

    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated and that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off after the engine is warmed up.

      Standard
      Condition Engine Idle Speed
      A/C switched off 730 to 830 rpm

      Note


      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.

      • Make sure that the shift lever is in N or P.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Throttle Pos. Sensor Output.

    6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or more.

    7. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
