PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK WHETHER ENGINE CAN BE CRANKED


    1. Check if the engine can be cranked.

      Result

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (STARTER SIGNAL)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Starter Signal.

    5. Check the value displayed on the GTS when the ignition switch is turned to the ON and START positions.

  3. INSPECT CLUTCH START SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - CLUTCH START SWITCH ASSEMBLY - CERTIFICATION ECU - ST RELAY - POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU)


    1. Disconnect the A93 ECM connector.

    2. Disconnect the A39 clutch start switch assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the F65 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    4. Remove the ST relay from the engine room relay block.

    5. Disconnect the A90 power management control ECU connector.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A93-46 (STA) - F65-7 (STA) Always Below 1 Ω
      A93-46 (STA) - A39-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      A93-46 (STA) - 2 (ST relay holder) Always Below 1 Ω
      A93-46 (STA) - A90-5 (STA) Always Below 1 Ω
      A93-46 (STA), F65-7 (STA), A90-5 (STA), A39-1 or 2 (ST relay holder) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - CLUTCH START SWITCH ASSEMBLY - CERTIFICATION ECU)


    1. Disconnect the B97 ECM connector (for LHD).

    2. Disconnect the B101 ECM connector (for RHD).

    3. Disconnect the A39 clutch start switch assembly connector.

    4. Disconnect the F65 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B97-112 (NSW) - F65-5 (STAR) Always Below 1 Ω
      B97-112 (NSW) - A39-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      F65-5 (STAR) - A39-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      B97-112 (NSW), F65-5 (STAR) or A39-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK ST RELAY (POWER SOURCE)

    1. Remove the ST relay from the engine room relay block.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - CLUTCH START SWITCH ASSEMBLY - ST RELAY - POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the A93 ECM connector.

    2. Disconnect the A39 clutch start switch assembly connector.

    3. Remove the ST relay from the engine room relay block.

    4. Disconnect the A90 power management control ECU connector.

    5. Disconnect the B1 starter assembly connector.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (ST relay holder) - A93-46 (STA) Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (ST relay holder) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (ST relay holder) - B1-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (ST relay holder) or A93-46 (STA) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (ST relay holder) or B1-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  8. READ VALUE USING GTS (STARTER SIGNAL)
