Tech Tips

Input the learning value of the throttle position sensor using the intelligent tester after the following operation:


  • ECM replacement.

  • Throttle with motor body assembly replacement.


  1. PERFORM ELECTRONIC THROTTLE LEARNING


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the tester on.

      Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / Electric Throttle Learning.

    5. Confirm that the initial conditions displayed on the tester screen are satisfied and press NEXT.

      Initial Conditions
      Ignition switch ON
      Electric throttle does not have a malfunction
      Engine speed: Less than 250 rpm
      Vehicle speed: 0 km/h
      Accelerator pedal position: Less than 15%
      Battery voltage: More than 10 V
      Coolant temperature: 5 to 100°C
      Intake air temperature: More than 5°C

      Check that the "Learning has completed" is displayed on the tester screen.

      Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / Electric Throttle Learning.

      Tech Tips

      Electronic throttle learning will not be completed if the battery is weak and it produces a momentary voltage drop, even though the battery voltage is 10 V or more when the ignition switch is turned ON.
