Tech Tips


  • DTCs which are stored in the ECM can be displayed on the GTS. The GTS can display current and pending DTCs.

  • Same DTCs are not stored if the ECM does not detect the same malfunction again during a second consecutive driving cycle. However, such malfunctions, detected on only one occasion, are stored as pending DTCs.

  • The pending DTCs are stored when the malfunction is detected once.


  1. CHECK DTC (Using GTS)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus : Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.

    5. Check and make a note of DTCs and freeze frame data.

  2. CLEAR DTC (Using GTS)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (do not start the engine).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.

    5. Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data.
