(w/o Adaptive Variable Suspension System) | Perform headlight ECU sub-assembly LH initialization | HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH INITIALIZATION |
| Battery terminal is disconnected and connected. | Steering sensor zero point calibration |
|
If the steering sensor zero point calibration is not performed, the adaptive high beam system*1 and cornering lights*2 may not operate correctly.
*1: w/ Adaptive High Beam System
*2: w/ Cornering Lights
A new headlight ECU sub-assembly LH cannot operate until the vehicle information is synchronized.
After replacing the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH, it is necessary to synchronize the vehicle information and performing initialization.
Even if the headlight ECU sub-assembly RH is replaced with a new one, synchronizing the vehicle information and performing initialization are not necessary.
Adjust the headlight aim after initializing the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH.
Vehicle information registration must be performed with the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connected via CAN communication.
PROCEDURE
SYNCHRONIZE VEHICLE INFORMATION
When using the GTS:
Turn the power switch off.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Check that "Headlight System Uninitialized Visit Your Dealer" warning message is displayed on the multi-information display.

Check the display on the GTS and press "Next".
Check that the "Headlight System Uninitialized Visit Your Dealer" warning message on the multi-information display continuously blinks 6 times at 2 Hz.
Tech Tips
If the "Headlight System Uninitialized Visit Your Dealer" warning message does not start blinking on the multi-information display, perform the procedure again.
If the "Headlight System Uninitialized Visit Your Dealer" warning message on the multi-information display changes from blinking to illuminated, turn the power switch off and then on (IG). If the "Headlight System Uninitialized Visit Your Dealer" warning message is displayed immediately after the power switch is turned on (IG), the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH may be malfunctioning.
If the "Headlight System Uninitialized Visit Your Dealer" warning message on the multi-information display changes from blinking to illuminated, turn the power switch off and then on (IG). If the "Headlight System Uninitialized Visit Your Dealer" warning message is displayed 5 seconds or more after the power switch was turned on (IG), the rear height control sensor sub-assembly LH may be malfunctioning.
Press "Exit" and turn the power switch off.
Note
After synchronizing the vehicle information, initialize the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH.
When not using the GTS:
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Check that "Headlight System Uninitialized Visit Your Dealer" warning message is displayed on the multi-information display.
Using the light control switch, turn the low beam headlights on and off 8 times within 20 seconds after turning the power switch on (IG).
Note
If the low beam headlights illuminate when the power switch is on (IG), shine a light on the automatic light control sensor to turn the low beam headlights off before operating the light control switch. (w/o DRL OFF Switch)
Tech Tips
If this step cannot be completed within 20 seconds, turn the power switch off. Then, turn the power switch on (IG) and restart the procedure.
