FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

   INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

   
   
   1. 

      *a

      Component without harness connected (Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly LH)

      -

      -

      for LHD, Driver Side:

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Q39-2 - Q39-6 Seat belt unfastened (Buckle switch is off) 10 kΩ or higher Q39-2 - Q39-6 Seat belt fastened (Buckle switch is on) Below 1 Ω L192-4 (LSP-) - z47-1 Always Below 1 Ω L192-2 (LSP+) - z47-2 Always Below 1 Ω If the result is not as specified, replace the front seat inner belt assembly LH.

      2. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the connector and check the LED illumination conditions.

         OK
         Tester Connection Specified Condition Q39-1 - Auxiliary battery positive (+) Q39-5 - Auxiliary battery negative (-) Buckle switch LED illuminates If the result is not as specified, replace the front seat inner belt assembly LH.

   2. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly LH)

      for RHD, Front Passenger Side:

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Q39-2 - Q39-6 Seat belt unfastened (Buckle switch is off) 10 kΩ or higher Q39-2 - Q39-6 Seat belt fastened (Buckle switch is on) Below 1 Ω If the result is not as specified, replace the front seat inner belt assembly LH.

      2. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the connector and check the LED illumination conditions.

         OK
         Tester Connection Specified Condition Q39-1 - Auxiliary battery positive (+) Q39-5 - Auxiliary battery negative (-) Buckle switch LED illuminates If the result is not as specified, replace the front seat inner belt assembly LH.

   3. w/ Easy Access Buckle:

      
      
      1. 

         *a	Vinyl Tape

         Remove the vinyl tape and disconnect the connector.

         Tip:

         If the result is as specified, connect the connector and install new vinyl tape as shown in the illustration.

      2. 

         *a	Component without harness connected (Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly LH (motor))

         Check that the buckle moves smoothly and stroke is more than 40 mm when the battery is connected to the motor connector terminals.

         OK
         Tester Connection Specified Condition 1 - Auxiliary battery positive (+) 3 - Auxiliary battery negative (-) Buckle extends 3 - Auxiliary battery positive (+) 1 - Auxiliary battery negative (-) Buckle shrinks If the result is not as specified, replace the front seat inner belt assembly LH.

      for RHD, Driver Side:

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Q16-2 - Q16-6 Seat belt unfastened (Buckle switch is off) 10 kΩ or higher Q16-2 - Q16-6 Seat belt fastened (Buckle switch is on) Below 1 Ω L20-4 (RSP-) - z42-1 Always Below 1 Ω L20-2 (RSP+) - z42-2 Always Below 1 Ω If the result is not as specified, replace the front seat inner belt assembly RH.

      2. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the connector and check the LED illumination conditions.

         OK
         Tester Connection Specified Condition Q16-1 - Auxiliary battery positive (+) Q16-5 - Auxiliary battery negative (-) Buckle switch LED illuminates If the result is not as specified, replace the front seat inner belt assembly RH.

   2. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly RH)

      for LHD, Front Passenger Side:

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Q16-2 - Q16-6 Seat belt unfastened (Buckle switch is off) 10 kΩ or higher Q16-2 - Q16-6 Seat belt fastened (Buckle switch is on) Below 1 Ω If the result is not as specified, replace the front seat inner belt assembly RH.

      2. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the connector and check the LED illumination conditions.

         OK
         Tester Connection Specified Condition Q16-1 - Auxiliary battery positive (+) Q16-5 - Auxiliary battery negative (-) Buckle switch LED illuminates If the result is not as specified, replace the front seat inner belt assembly RH.

   3. w/ Easy Access Buckle:

      
      
      1. 

         *a	Vinyl Tape

         Remove the vinyl tape and disconnect the connector.

         Tip:

         If the result is as specified, connect the connector and install new vinyl tape as shown in the illustration.

      2. 

         *a	Component without harness connected (Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly RH (motor))

         Check that the buckle moves smoothly and stroke is more than 40 mm when the battery is connected to the motor connector terminals.

         OK
         Tester Connection Specified Condition 1 - Auxiliary battery positive (+) 3 - Auxiliary battery negative (-) Buckle extends 3 - Auxiliary battery positive (+) 1 - Auxiliary battery negative (-) Buckle shrinks If the result is not as specified, replace the front seat inner belt assembly RH.
