PROCEDURE
INSPECT AIR TUBE
Check for air leaks.
Note
Do not disconnect the connection of the air tube or check valves.
Disconnect the air tube and joint.
Install the air tube and joints to the vacuum pump.
| *a | Joint A | *b | Joint B |
| *c | Air Tube | *d | Vacuum Pump |
Using a vacuum pump, increase the pressure in the air tube to 100 kPa.
| OK |
|---|
| The vacuum pump needle does not move down from the initial position. |
Tech Tips
If the pressure drops, determine the location of the air leak in the air tube.
Determine the air leak area.
| *a | 10 to 20 mm (0.394 to 0.787 in.) |
Using a vacuum pump to maintain the pressure, move a hand up and down the air tube to determine the location of the air leak.
If the location of the air leak cannot be determined, using a vacuum pump to maintain the pressure, apply soapy water over the air tube to determine the location of the air leak.
Tech Tips
Repair the air leak.
