DESCRIPTION

The combination meter assembly and engine oil pressure switch assembly are connected via direct line. The combination meter assembly determines the engine oil pressure based on the engine oil pressure switch ON/OFF signal.

Tip:
  • The combination meter assembly receives various vehicle information signals from the hybrid vehicle control ECU via CAN communication in order to output warnings.

  • The combination meter assembly operates the following to output oil pressure warnings:


    1. Engine oil pressure warning light

    2. Engine oil pressure warning buzzer

    3. Engine oil pressure warning message on multi-information display

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:
  • The following troubleshooting procedure is based on the assumption that the hybrid control system is normal. Confirm that the hybrid control system is not malfunctioning before performing the following procedure.

  • When replacing the combination meter assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a combination meter assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.

    INSPECT ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the engine oil pressure switch assembly.

    2. Inspect the engine oil pressure switch assembly.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the G34 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the D14*1 or D15*2 engine oil pressure switch assembly connector.


      • *1: for 2WD

      • *2: for AWD

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (for 2WD)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G34-9 (S) - D14-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      G34-9 (S) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Standard Resistance (for AWD)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G34-9 (S) - D15-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      G34-9 (S) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
