DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the combination meter assembly detects a fuel sender gauge assembly malfunction via a direct line.

When IG voltage is 9.5 V or more and the following condition is detected:


  • Average input signal of fuel sender gauge assembly is 630 Ω or more 3 times consecutively


  • Harness or connector

  • Fuel suction plate sub-assembly

  • Fuel sender gauge assembly

  • Combination meter assembly

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:

When replacing the combination meter assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a combination meter assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    READ VALUE USING GTS (FUEL INPUT)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.


      1. Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List

        Fuel Input Fuel input Min.: 0 L, Max.: 127.5 L
        • Fuel receiver gauge indicates

          F: 80.8 L

        • Fuel receiver gauge indicates

          3/4: 51.6 L

          1/4: 28.8 L

        • Fuel receiver gauge indicates

          E: 4.6 L

    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL SUCTION PLATE SUB-ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the L23 fuel suction plate sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the G34 combination meter assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L23-3 (FR) - G34-36 (FR) Always Below 1 Ω
      L23-2 (FE) - G34-35 (FE&B) Always Below 1 Ω
      L23-1 (FV) - G34-37 (FV) Always Below 1 Ω
      G34-36 (FR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G34-35 (FE&B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G34-37 (FV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
