    INSPECT MAYDAY SWITCH (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY)

      Component without harness connected

      (Mayday Switch (Map Light Assembly))

      		 - -

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N9-31(SIG1) - N9-32(GND3) Manual (SOS) switch not pressed 408 to 416 Ω
      N9-31(SIG1) - N9-32(GND3) Manual (SOS) switch pressed 81.2 to 82.8 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the mayday switch (map light assembly).

    2. Inspect the operation (red indicator)

        Component without harness connected

        (Mayday Switch (Map Light Assembly))

        		 - -

        Check that each indicator illuminates when auxiliary battery are connected to the mayday switch (map light assembly) connector terminals.

        OK
        Tester Connection Specified Condition

        N9-30(IND1) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)

        N9-32(GND3) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)

        		 Red indicator comes on.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the mayday switch (map light assembly).

    3. Inspect the operation (green indicator)

        		 - -

        Check that each indicator illuminates when auxiliary battery are connected to the mayday switch (map light assembly) connector terminals.

        OK
        Tester Connection Specified Condition

        N9-28(IND2) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)

        N9-32(GND3) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)

        		 Green indicator comes on.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the mayday switch (map light assembly).

    4. Inspect the operation (HELP indicator)

        Check that each indicator illuminates when auxiliary battery are connected to the mayday switch (map light assembly) connector terminals.

        OK
        Tester Connection Specified Condition

        N9-29(RRID) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)

        N9-32(GND3) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)

        		 HELP indicator comes on.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the mayday switch (map light assembly).
