AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM Stereo Jack Adapter Light does not Illuminate

DESCRIPTION

Power is supplied to the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly illumination from the radio receiver assembly.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

When replacing the radio receiver assembly, always replace it with a new one.

If a radio receiver assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the following may occur:


  • A communication malfunction DTC may be stored.

  • The radio receiver assembly may not operate normally.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 STEREO JACK ADAPTER ASSEMBLY ILLUMINATION POWER SOURCE)


    1. Disconnect the G143 and G85 No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly connectors.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G143-1 (UP1) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 5 V
      G85-8 (ACC) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 STEREO JACK ADAPTER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the G52 and G138 radio receiver assembly connectors.

    2. Disconnect the G85 and G143 No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G52-16 (ACC) - G85-8 (ACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      G138-1 (USV1) - G143-1 (UP1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G52-16 (ACC) or G85-8 (ACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G138-1 (USV1) or G143-1 (UP1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
