DESCRIPTION

Different voltage values are sent to the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU by operating the tilt and telescopic switch. The multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU then judges which motor and in which direction that motor should operate based on the voltage value.

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    READ VALUE USING GTS (TILT MANUAL SWITCH UP/DOWN, TELESCOPIC MANUAL SWITCH SHORT/LONG)


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Check the tilt and telescopic switch.

    6. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Tilt & Telescopic / Data List.


      1. Body Electrical > Tilt&Telescopic > Data List

      "ON" is displayed on the GTS screen when each switch is turned on.
      "OFF" is displayed on the GTS screen when each switch is turned off.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU - TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH)


    1. Disconnect the G21 multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the G25 tilt and telescopic switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G21-5 (VC) - G25-1 (VC) Always Below 1 Ω
      G21-18 (MSW) - G25-3 (MSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      G21-5 (VC) or G25-1 (VC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G21-18 (MSW) or G25-3 (MSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Reconnect the G21 multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      G21-5 (VC) - G21-18 (MSW) Power switch on (IG) 4.9 to 5.1 V
