DESCRIPTION

When a problem occurs in the PIG power source and power supply relay system, the fail-safe function works to stop the power assist.

  • If the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly has been replaced, perform assist map writing and torque sensor zero point calibration.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RACK AND PINION POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the B1 rack and pinion power steering gear assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B1-8 (PIG) - Body ground Always 9 to 16 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B1-7 (PGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
