Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides, except where indicated.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM

  2. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PAD

  3. INSTALL REAR DISC LH

      Check the identification mark to determine the installation side.

      Note

      The rear disc needs to be installed to the correct side of the vehicle. There is a "L", indicating the disc for the left wheel, or a "R", indicating the disc for the right wheel, engraved on the disc in the position shown in the illustration.

    2. When reusing the rear disc LH:

        *a Matchmark

        Align the matchmarks of the rear disc and rear axle hub and bearing assembly LH, and install the rear disc LH.

    3. When replacing the rear disc LH:


      1. Inspect the rear disc runout.

        Click here

      2. Select the installation position where the rear disc has minimal runout, and install the rear disc LH.

    4. Temporarily install the 5 hub nuts.

  4. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING HOLE PLUG


    1. Install the parking brake shoe adjusting hole plug to rear disc LH.

  5. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH to the rear axle carrier sub-assembly LH with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      151 N*m  { 1540 kgf*cm, 111 ft.*lbf }
  6. CONNECT REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE


    1. Connect the rear flexible hose to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH with a new union bolt and a new gasket.

      Torque:
      39.2 N*m  { 400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Install the rear flexible hose lock securely into the lock hole in the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

  7. CONNECT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP CONNECTOR

  8. BLEED BRAKE LINE

  9. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE

  10. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
