POWER TRUNK LID SYSTEM Luggage Compartment Door Closer does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The luggage compartment door closer controls the luggage door closer assembly (closer motor) via the luggage closer motor assembly based on switch signals in the luggage door closer assembly.

Note


  • The power trunk lid system uses the CAN communication system and LIN communication system. First, confirm that there is no malfunction in the CAN communication system and LIN communication system. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • If the replacement, removal and installation of the luggage closer motor assembly or disconnection of the connectors of the luggage closer motor assembly has been performed, initialize the power trunk lid system.

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY - LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the L10 luggage closer motor assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the L12 luggage door closer assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L10-21 (SWG) - L12-12 (CSWE) Always Below 1 Ω
      L10-20 (PAWL) - L12-11 (CLS) Always Below 1 Ω
      L10-21 (SWG) or L12-12 (CSWE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L10-20 (PAWL) or L12-11 (CLS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY


    1. Temporarily replace the luggage door closer assembly with a new or known good one.
