SLIDING ROOF HOUSING INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF HOUSING ASSEMBLY


    1. Temporarily install the sliding roof housing assembly with the 8 nuts and 8 bolts.

      *1 Nut with torque value indication - -

      Note

      If the removed nut is the same shape as that shown in the illustration, replace it the supplied replacement part.

    2. Tighten the 8 nuts, 8 bolts as shown in the illustration and install the sliding roof housing assembly.

      Torque:
      Nut*1
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }
      Bolt
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }
    3. Connect the 4 sliding roof drain hoses.

      Tech Tips

      Insert the drain hose securely into the base of the drain pipe.

      Expand the clip as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      The clip must face toward the outside of the vehicle and also be above the lower surface of the sliding roof housing assembly when installing the sliding roof drain hose.

      Tech Tips


      • Make sure that the clip is on the marking or between the marking and hose end.

      • Use the same procedure for the other 3 clips.

  2. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF WEATHERSTRIP


    1. Align the sliding roof weatherstrip joint with the center of the vehicle rear side of the sliding roof panel sub-assembly.

    2. Align the sliding roof weatherstrip marking (brown) with the marking (center) on the resin part of the sliding roof panel sub-assembly and install the sliding roof weatherstrip to the sliding roof panel sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips


      • Check that the sliding roof weatherstrip joint is at the center of the vehicle rear side.

      • Check that the sliding roof weatherstrip marking (brown) is between the markings of the resin part of the sliding roof panel sub-assembly (both ends).

      • Check that the lip of the sliding roof weatherstrip is securely installed.

  3. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, temporarily install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 4 screws.

    2. Perform a level check.

      1. Check the difference in level "a" between the roof panel and the upper surface of the sliding roof weatherstrip when the sliding roof glass sub-assembly is fully closed.

        0 - 2.0 mm (0 - 0.0787 in.)

        Rear[B-B]

        0 + 2.0 mm (0 + 0.0787 in.)

        0 - 1.0 mm (0 - 0.0394 in.)

        Side[C-C]

        0 + 1.5 mm (0 + 0.0591 in.)

        0 - 1.5 mm (0 - 0.0591 in.)

        Rear Corner[D-D]

        0 + 1.5 mm (0 + 0.0591 in.)

        0 - 1.0 mm (0 - 0.0394 in.)

        Tech Tips

        "+" represents the condition that the glass is above the panel level. "-" represents the condition that the glass is below the panel level.

    3. Perform a gap check.

      1. Check the gap between the roof panel and sliding roof glass sub-assembly when the sliding roof glass sub-assembly is fully closed.

        Note

        The gap must be even all around.

    4. After adjusting the sliding roof glass sub-assembly, using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 4 "TORX" screws.

      Torque:
      4.0 N*m  { 41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf }
  4. CHECK WATER LEAK


    1. After adjusting the sliding roof glass sub-assembly, check for water leakage into the vehicle interior.

    2. If there are any leaks, readjust the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.

  5. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH

      Attach the claw to install the sliding roof side garnish LH.

  6. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH
