DESCRIPTION

If a door glass or a power window regulator motor assembly does not operate smoothly, the jam protection function may be triggered automatically, resulting in the auto up operation being unable to fully close the window.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:
  • If a power window regulator motor assembly has been replaced with a new one, initialize the power window control system.

  • If a power window regulator motor assembly and front door window regulator sub-assembly have been removed and installed, or if a power window regulator motor assembly was reused when a door glass or door glass run was replaced, initialize the power window control system.

This symptom may occur for any of the windows.

  1. Click here

    PERFORM INITIALIZATION (APPLICABLE LOCATION)


    1. Initialize the power window regulator motor assembly (applicable location).

    CHECK POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM (AUTO UP / DOWN FUNCTION [APPLICABLE LOCATION])


    1. Check that each power window moves when the auto up and down function of the multiplex network master switch assembly, power window regulator switch assembly or rear power window regulator switch assembly (LH or RH) is operated.

    CHECK WINDOW GLASS SLIDING MOVEMENT (APPLICABLE LOCATION)


    1. Remove the door window regulator.


    2. Install the window glass to the door glass run.


    3. Check if the door window regulator operates smoothly.

    4. Check that the window glass slides smoothly when sliding it up by hand.

      CAUTION:

      Perform initialization again.

      Tip:
      • Ensure the following:
      • The window glass fits with the glass run without improper contact or deformation.

      • Foreign matter is not caught in the glass run.

      • The glass run is not misaligned.

      • The belt moulding or roof side rail weatherstrip is not caught.

      • The glass is not tilted and does not catch.
