  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL RAIN SENSOR TAPE

    Tech Tips


    • Only perform this procedure when replacing the rain sensor tape.

    • Replace the rain sensor tape with new one if it is damaged or contaminated.


    1. Clean the rain sensor sensing portion with a piece of cloth.

      Remove the peeling paper (the smaller one), and apply the rain sensor tape to the position (the rain sensor sensing portion) shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Apply the tape while pressing out air bubbles stuck between the sensor and the tape with a finger.

  2. INSTALL RAIN SENSOR


    1. Clean off the dirt on the windshield glass with a piece of cloth.

      Note


      • Make sure that there is no rain sensor tape residue from the removed rain sensor on the windshield glass. If there is, remove the residue.

      • If there is any rain sensor tape residue remaining on the windshield glass, replace the tape.

      • If the rain sensor has been dropped, replace it with a new one.

    2. When installing a new rain sensor or when the rain sensor tape has been replaced:


      1. Remove the peeling paper.

        Tech Tips

        Do not directly touch the rain sensor tape surface.

    3. Connect the connector.

      Push the rain sensor in the direction (1) indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration, and gradually attach to the windshield glass surface so that air bubbles do not form between the contact surfaces.

      Tech Tips

      Do not directly touch the rain sensor tape surface and the windshield glass surface.

    5. Engage the stopper in the direction (2) indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration and install the rain sensor.

  3. INSTALL RAIN SENSOR COVER

      Attach the claw and install the rain sensor cover.
