DESCRIPTION

The hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly illuminates the cruise control SET indicator by sending indicator output demand signals to the combination meter assembly via CAN communication. The cruise control SET indicator illuminates when the dynamic radar cruise control system is controlling vehicle speed. The cruise SET indicator light circuit uses CAN communication. If the cruise control SET indicator is not functioning correctly, check for CAN communication DTCs before troubleshooting this circuit.

CAUTION:

Observe the following items for safety reasons when using GTS:


  • B004SZK

    Before using the GTS, read the instruction GTS.

  • B004XKR

    Prevent the GTS cable from being caught on the pedals, shift lever or steering wheel when driving with the GTS connected to the vehicle.

  • When driving the vehicle for testing purposes, 2 people are required. One person should operate the GTS while the other drives the vehicle.

Note:

  • When replacing the combination meter assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a combination meter assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.

  • Before replacing the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly, refer to Service Bulletin.

PROCEDURE

    PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (MULTI DISPLAY DEFAULT SCREEN)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

    READ VALUE USING GTS (-SET SWITCH)


    1. Turn the cruise control system on using the cruise control main switch.

    2. w/o Full-speed range following function:

      Drive at a speed between approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or higher.

    3. w/ Full-speed range following function:

      Drive at a speed between approximately 0 km/h (0 mph) or higher.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise 1 / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.
