PROCEDURE

    INSPECT PCV VALVE

    CAUTION:
    B004VEL

    • When inspecting the PCV valve, do not suck air through the valve.

    • There are blow-by gas substances remaining inside the PCV valve that are harmful to inhale.


    1. Install a hose to the PCV valve.

    2. Check PCV valve operation.

        B004SZX Cylinder Head Cover Sub-assembly LH Side

        Blow air into the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH side, and check that air passes through easily.

        CAUTION:

        Do not suck air through the PCV valve. Petroleum substances inside the PCV valve are hazardous to your health.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the PCV valve.

        *a Hose
        *b Air
        B004SZX Intake Air Surge Tank Assembly Side

        Blow air into the intake air surge tank assembly side, and check that air passes through with difficulty.

        CAUTION:

        Do not suck air through the PCV valve. Petroleum substances inside the PCV valve are hazardous to your health.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the PCV valve.

    3. Remove the hose from the PCV valve.
