FUEL PUMP(for High Pressure) ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY OPERATION

    1. Check fuel pressure.

      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      2. Put the engine in inspection mode (2WD for measuring exhaust gas).

      3. Start the engine.

      4. Turn the GTS on.

      5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the Target Fuel Pressure Offset / Data List / Fuel Pressure (High).

Powertrain > Engine > Active Test
        Active Test Display
Control the Target Fuel Pressure Offset
        Data List Display
        Fuel Pressure (High)
      6. Select the Data List item: Fuel Pressure (High)

      7. Check that the fuel pressure fluctuates when the target fuel pressure changes.

        Tech Tips

The target fuel pressure operation lowers the target fuel pressure by -12.5% or increases the target fuel pressure by +24.8%.

        Standard
Fuel pressure fluctuates in accordance with the GTS operation.

If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly (fuel pressure sensor).

    2. Check the operating sound.

      1. Remove the V-bank cover sub-assembly.

      2. Start the engine.

Using a sound scope, check the operating sound of the pump.

If no sound can be heard, check the fuel pump, wire harness and ECM.

      4. Stop the engine.

      5. Install the V-bank cover sub-assembly.
