Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing a fuel injector assembly.


PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing a fuel injector assembly.



    1. Apply a light coat of spindle oil or gasoline to 2 new O-rings, and install the fuel injector assembly.

      Note

      Check that there is no damage or foreign matter on the groove of the fuel injector assembly when installing the O-ring to each fuel injector assembly.

    2. for Bank 1:


      1. Apply a light coat of spindle oil or gasoline to a new O-ring, and install the fuel injector assembly.

        Note

        Check that there is no damage or foreign matter on the groove of the fuel injector assembly when installing the O-ring to each fuel injector assembly.

      2. Connect the 3 connectors and install the 3 fuel injector assemblies.

        Install the 3 fuel injector assemblies to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

        Note


        • Check that there is no damage or foreign material in the inlet of the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

        • Be careful not to twist the O-ring.

        • Install the fuel injector assembly so that its stopper aligns with the positioning gap of the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      4. Engage the clamp to connect the No. 5 engine wire to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

    3. for Bank 2:


      1. Apply a light coat of spindle oil or gasoline to a new O-ring, and install the fuel injector assembly.

        Note

        Check that there is no damage or foreign matter on the groove of the fuel injector assembly when installing the O-ring to each fuel injector assembly.

      2. Connect the 3 connectors and install the 3 fuel injector assemblies.

      3. Install the 3 fuel injector assemblies to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

        Note


        • Check that there is no damage or foreign material in the inlet of the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

        • Be careful not to twist the O-ring.

        • Install the fuel injector assembly so that its stopper aligns with the positioning gap of the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

  2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Note


    • Do not remove the fuel pressure sensor from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

    • If a fuel pressure sensor is removed, replace the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly (fuel pressure sensor) with a new one.


    1. Install 6 new injector vibration insulators to the intake manifold.

    2. Install the 4 No. 1 delivery pipe spacers to the intake manifold.

    3. Install the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly (with fuelinjector assembly) to the intake manifold.

      Note

      Be careful not to drop the fuel injector assemblies when installing the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      Install the fuel injector assemblies to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assemblies with the 4 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      17 N*m  { 173 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

    5. Connect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

  3. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS


    1. for LH Side:


      1. Attach the claw and connect the No. 8 engine wire to the No. 7 engine wire.

      2. Attach the clamp.

      3. Attach the claw and connect the No. 7 engine wire to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.

    2. for RH Side:


      1. Attach the claw and connect the No. 5 engine wire to the No. 6 engine wire.

      2. Attach the claw and connect the No. 6 engine wire to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

    3. Connect the 4 connectors.

  4. CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the No. 1 fuel tube sub-assembly to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      Install the No. 1 fuel tube sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      for bolt A
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }
      for bolt B
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly with the clip.

  6. INSTALL FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the fuel tube connector and install the fuel tube sub-assembly.

    2. Attach the fuel hose clamp.

    3. Connect the fuel tube sub-assembly to the fuel pipe (vehicle side).

    4. Install new fuel hose clamp and attach the 2 claws.

  7. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY

  8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  9. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK
