REAR CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR ENGINE OIL SEAL


    1. Apply MP grease to the lip of a new rear engine oil seal.

      *1 Rear Engine Oil Seal Retainer
      *a Oil Seal Protrusion Height

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the rear engine oil seal.

      SST
      09223-15030
      09950-70010   ( 09951-07150 )
      Oil Seal Protrusion Height
      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

      Note


      • Keep the lip free of foreign matter.

      • Do not tap in the rear engine oil seal at an angle.

  2. INSTALL FLYWHEEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley.

    2. Clean the 8 bolt holes.

    3. B004R76N01

      Install a new 8 bolts in several steps in the sequence shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      83 N*m  { 846 kgf*cm, 61 ft.*lbf }
  3. INSTALL TRANSMISSION INPUT DAMPER COVER ASSEMBLY

      Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley.

      Install the transmission input damper cover assembly to the flywheel sub-assembly with the 9 bolts. Uniformly tighten the 9 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      49.4 N*m  { 504 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • Make sure that there is no oil on the transmission input damper cover assembly or flywheel sub-assembly.

      • Make sure to install the transmission input damper cover assembly in the correct direction.

      • Do not allow grease to contact the splines of the transmission input damper cover assembly or the input shaft.
